Pawcane is a survivors-inspired, top-down, 2D, spell-slinging horde shooter filled with magic, spells, arcane mystery, and a huge amount of fused elemental attacks! My aim for this game is to create a survivors game that feel more up to the player to decide how they want to use their magic against each enemy type. With the current scope aiming for 3 spells of each element type, and 6 different elements, there are a huge amount of combinations between spells to explore and find what works for you! With inclusive features such as a chill mode for when you just want to sit back, relax, listen to some in-game music, and cast some spells, all the way to nightmarish mode to really test your skills and arcane ability! I hope to bring a fun and interesting gameplay loop for those who are looking for a new survivors-style game, and I have always been a huge fan of magic and combining magic to make new elements in every game I possibly can. I am fun-focused first, meaning that I want the game to feel good for the player, not something that needs to "be a challenge at all times." I personally dislike games that take away fun builds because the "meta" is too broken, and want every spell in the game to feel like it's worth equipping, and has a worthwhile fusion for a given situation. The only time I will purposefully change the way that a weapon works would be if it is glitched or broken, and not working as intended, but even then, it not working as intended could lead to the development of a whole new spell that works in the way the previous one broke! The development is very flexible, and as a first time game developer, I am simply looking for something that I myself would enjoy playing, and hopefully some of you will enjoy it as well.
This will act as the official space to see updates about the game in it's early development, and a place for you to reach out to me as a developer and suggest game changes that you would like to see added, or any feedback that you have about the current public builds of the game!
I am hoping to show frequent updates much like my previous discord server, however, I update that almost twice a day, and may not want to spam this space with smaller bug fixes. If there are large, overarching game changes that are made to the game, they will be explained in detail right here!
Stay tuned for game updates, and updates on how to get access to the demo!
